Cathkin Cottage Bed and Breakfast is in the heart of the Central Drakensberg mountains, in the shadow of the mighty Cathkin Peak and Champagne Castle, two of the highest peaks in South Africa.
Tastefully decorated en-suite double and twin rooms with private entrances from the lovely garden, are fully equipped with towels, toileteries, tea and coffee facilities, fridges, and are serviced daily. Heaters / fans are provided in each room. |

Delicious breakfasts are served on the patio overlooking the park-like garden and pool area with spectacular mountain views. Full English or continental breakfasts are available, both with tea, coffee, fruit juices, homemade jams etc.
The Central Drakensberg is easily accessible from the N3 motorway (the major route between Gauteng and KwaZulu-Natal). Cathkin Cottage is at the entrance to a small private village with 24 hour security and is easily reached on all tar roads. The Central Drakensberg is approximately 2 hours from Durban and 3½ hours from Johannesburg. The view driving into the Drakensberg mountains towards Cathkin Cottage is truly breath-taking. |

An advantage of our location is that all the restaurants and coffee shops of Champagne Valley are on your doorstep, and a wide range of sporting activities are available for the energetic. The Central Drakensberg's hiking and walking trails start nearby, with many starting right from the cottage.
The clear, mountain air is both refreshing and exhilarating and our guests are welcome to relax at the pool or enjoy a braai / barbecue in the garden during the day, taking in the sights and sounds of nature in South Africa, or enjoy pleasant evenings under a star-filled sky. This is a wonderful place to simply relax, laze under a tree with a book, enjoy a refreshing swim after a walk in the mountains, or listen to the many birds in the garden. |
